I Wont Let This City Destroy Us

I thought that I should make a post explaining about how I came up with the name for my blog. Some of you who are aware of my musical tastes know that I am a huge fan of Patrick Wolf. Around the same time as I started the blog he came out with a new album Lupercalia. It was the best album of 2011 (and there was some stiff competition) I was blown away by the lead single “the City”. the song really fit on many levels with what i wanted the trip to be about and where i was at in life.

The main focus of the trip was to explore the wild reached of the Patagonian wilderness and escape for a while the city life and get lost in the wild lonely silence. But it was more than that, my Patagonian adventure was a transition point in my life. After my travels and a short rest at home i made the move to Vancouver. I take the message of this song to be about taking the best that a city has to offer and harnessing its energy.

The song became an anthem of my travels and has moved me deeply and I don’t think that I could have picked a better title for my blog.

Hello again!

So my posts are coming fast and furious!These Pictures were from the first roll of film I ever shot with in September 2010. Sara gave me her old Canon T70 and the rest is history. Eric Jasmine Lindsay and Brendan went for a little walk around Edmonton.
